The GIP Grand Prix de France – Le Castellet announces the appointment of Éric Boullier as Managing Director of the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France. Eric Boullier joined the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France organization in February 2019 as a Strategic Sports and Operational Advisor and Ambassador for the Grand Prix.

On the occasion of the arrival of its new Managing Director, the GIP Grand Prix de France de Formule 1 wishes to put the Mobility Plan at the heart of the Grand Prix.

This mobility plan, which worked particularly well the previous year, will be renewed for the 2020 edition with the introduction of new improvements:

  • The network of free park and ride shuttles will be extended to the towns of St-Cyr sur Mer, Le Castellet, Le Beausset while increasing the number of parking spots available from La Ciotat;
  • The campsite of the French Grand Prix will be extended;
  • The traffic routes, the layout of the parking areas as well as the information system set up in 2019 will be improved upon.

In addition to these improvements, many new features will be integrated:

  • Free shuttles from 5 towns close to the Paul Ricard circuit with an additional stop at the La Ciotat SNCF railway station;
  • Development of a carpooling application with the possibility of using a priority lane and a reserved car park;
  • Shuttles from Marseille, Toulon and Aix-en-Provence during the entire event;
  • Shuttles from Arles, Avignon, Draguignan, Gap-Tallard, Manosque, Nice, Saint-Raphaël and Salon de Provence on Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June;
  • Shuttles from major cities such as Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Montpellier, Perpignan and Valence (Sunday only);
  • International shuttles from Barcelona, Milan, Turin, Amsterdam and Eindhoven with a special offer of three nights camping and two days of Grand Prix;

About Eric Boullier

Éric Boullier, born November 9, 1973, is a French Aeronautical and Space Engineer. Éric Boullier has held several positions in motor sport with many responsibilities as an Engineer but also in Management. In 1999, he joined the DAMS team (Formula 4, World Series by Renault, A1 Grand Prix, Formula 2, Endurance), then the Racing Engineering team (World Series by Renault, Formula 3). In 2010, he took over as Head of the Renault F1 Team / Lotus F1 Team. He will obtain 25 podiums and 2 victories. In 2014, he became McLaren Racing’s Competition Director until 2018. Éric Boullier was also a member of several working groups and notably co-directed the FOTA (Formula One Team Association) from 2010 to 2013. From 2013 to 2018, he is an active member of the Formula One Strategy Group. Finally, he was part of the task force to help bring F1 back to France. This group, reformed by Christian Estrosi, succeeded in its mission with the return of the French Grand Prix in 2018.
